Delhi Monsoon - 1

 FIRST MONSOON SHOWER

~My wake up sid moment!

 ~Part 1

30-6-22

The day unfolded like a story.I was sitting in class.Though physically I was there but mentally I was somewhere else only.Wish to know why? As the weather looked heavenly gorgeous and I couldn't resist myself from staring outside the window.Luckily it was half day otherwise I would have been taunted by rita ma'am, 'Asmita,in your senses?' Well ma'am has always been nice to me so far.But Anne once said that teachers are the most unpredictable creatures in the world so you can understand.I agree with her halfheartedly. Oh no! I am missing out on my story.

Then, the bell rang.It was raining heavily. There were dark clouds everywhere .There was cool breeze all over.I kept looking out for a chance to stand near the window to see how the rainy day looked like from the window. We were asked to stay inside the class till the rain stops. But 15 minutes passed and still it rained incessantly.I should thank my stars that I had my 'pink chhatri'. I took my iconic chhtatri and made the long walk till the school gate with a dear friend of mine in another chhatri, Aditi! She told me that she wished to give me my bday gift as on 29th it was my bird day( part 2 will elaborate). So, from one chhata the gift passed to the pink chhata. It looked quite filmy.Baarish plus chhata plus a tohfa hmmm sounds like something fishy.I had to reach the bus stop so I hurried and couldn't thank her properly with the song,' kisi shayar ki gazal , dream girl! and she will complete it with, 'kahin toh milegi, kabhi toh milegi aaj nahi toh kallllll!!!'

I waited for the bus.But that day I was so happy that even waiting didn't worry me. I loved watching the beautiful pink flowers dancing on the tunes of monsoon and celebrating the joy of rains. We had the same emotions. My pink chhata made me look like phool though ( not fool:p) .My classic joke! After waiting for some 15 minutes there came a bus.I stepped in it.And there was the internal debate sparked in me. A logical practical Asmita felt rains are so overrated when there is traffic and floods everything looks so ugly and that humidity is enough to kill anyone. But the filmy Asmita was still busy looking at the pink coloured flowers near the southex bus stop. And you know, whenever I face such internal rift filmy Asmita wins!! So the rest of the journey passed admiring clouds, flowers, umbrellas and the bhuttas. Usually I am always in a hurry.Hardly looking around turning back. But that day I turned around so much and tried to sum up everything. The beauty that rains breathed everywhere was literally 'att nahi rahi thi'.I thought to myself if I could just click everything but no phone policy had to be followed in school. So as soon as I reached home, I asked my sister to click a picture( see above).

This may sound to be a very ordinary incident to some. But since the day I watched Wake up sid , I always wished to have a similar experience.Though this was no where near the Bombay monsoon but yet somewhere I felt like new girl in the city, Aisha banerjee.A young ambitious struggling writer. But where was Sid?? Well is there any sid?? A silence prevails.

I saw a girl walking few steps ahead me......( will be continued in part 2)
