 Long-Lost Friend

(The door in the picture reads 'push bar to open' .but are there any bars that I can open which will lead me to my long lost friend- shadow or chhaya? )

An insignificant evening

with a bunch of insightful sights

Little one playing with his shadow

drove me down the memory lane-

Long long ago,

around 10 years back or so

the time, Oh that time

when chilling was the theme

life was itself a meme.

running,crawling,falling after 

a mysterious thing 

which replicated my actions

but didn't give a damn about my repeated appeals!

even if it didn't respond

my innocent heart knew

it was always there by my side

however,

cruelity of reality reigns

and the innocence veiled..

My friend -a dear friend,

or rather a long lost friend

grins at me; this moment-

yes at this very moment.

Or perhaps its just

an illusion of eyes.
